I feel incredibly luck to have found Jennifer for my daughter. My seven year old is been taking lessons from Jennifer for about a year and a half. Every time Jennifer comes my daughter cannot wait for her lesson and will often ask for more time. Jennifer has a way of making children feel good about themselves. I have watched many lessons and am impressed with Jennifer's patience and caring. Not too long ago my child seemed to give up on a classical piece she was working on. Soon after, late at night, I heard that music coming from the living room, so I crept in to see what was going on. There my daughter was with the piano light on, music out, playing the piece perfectly. It was then I realized the gift that Jennifer gave my daughter, the love of music that will last a lifetime. Jennifer Wood has been giving my daughter Amanda piano and singing lessons for approximately six months. Jennifer has been very patient and flexible in the lessons she gives Amanda which is great because Amanda is not always in the mood to do what her teacher tells her. Since I began taking voice and piano lessons with Jennifer Wood, it has given me a whole new outlook on life, in that I always thought I had the ability to sing. I just never tried. Then, I saw her card and it was the best phone call I've ever made. She helps you feel comfortable and confident in what your doing, and has an unbelievable ear, and ability to hear when you are off, or in key. Learning to sing with her is very fun, and when my voice isn't feeling great, piano is a great way to switch up the lesson, and make music through the keys, in a way that's very liberating, stimulating, and relaxing at the same time. She is an awesome, unbelievable, world class talent. It's very encouraging as well to know, that she also teaches and coaches actors, especially in developing voice over work, going over lines, and rehearsing them with you. Being a beginning actor as well, it's just one more facet that Jennifer offers to her students. I love learning how to sing, and play piano through her, and I'm looking forward to future voice work with her to help develop, and improve my acting ability! I have been taking Ms. Jennifer's private vocal/singing lesson since last summer. Needless to say, she is such a wonderful, knowledgeable teacher and I enjoy her each lesson very much. She teaches me about how to vocalize properly and sing songs with air (breath). It is also enjoyable to know a variety of music genres such as jazz, blues, bossa nova and country music through her. If there is somebody who is interested in a vocal/singing lesson, I definitely recommend Ms. Jennifer. Do not worry even if you a beginner! I was, too!

Before I had gone to her, people always said I had a beautiful voice, but even when I sang even a few songs in a row, my voice felt strained. She has taught me ultimately how to control, sustain, and properly use my voice. My 10 year old daughter took piano lessons from Jennifer for a little over a year. At that time she was actually composing her own melodies and started to sing as well. I've also been coached vocally by Jennifer to help me prepare for my various musical roles. She has given me vocal excersises that I continue to use to prepare. Jennifer started working with my daughter, Savannah, when she was very young - only four, teaching her piano, and also giving her singing lessons. She was very intuitive about sensing what this bright, artistic little girl wanted to do, and Savannah loved taking lessons - and loved Jennifer. Somehow they got on a kick of playing and singing standards, and Savannah amazed us both by learning songs she had heard, like Accentuate the Positive, and Broadway Baby. That Thanksgiving she spontaneously got up in front of about twenty relatives, and belted out Broadway Baby completely on key with motions she had made up on the spot. Jennifer was always supportive, positive and flexible. She gave Savannah a solid foundation and a love of music. She gave Savannah one of her cds as a gift, and it was one of her most treasured albums. Savannah played it over and over.
